Email Accounts

Your NetID plus the extension @utk.edu is your email address.  For example, if your name is Jane Doe, the university might assign jdoe as your NetID. Your email account would be jdoe@utk.edu. Once you know your NetID, and have changed the password, you are ready to log into your email account.

Go to the Tmail home page to log in. A Tmail link also appears in the header of UT Knoxville webpages.

Tmail works from all computers and in all browsers. It is web based, there is nothing for you to install.

CONFIGURING TMAIL

Once you have logged in, OIT recommends that you configure your account with these settings:

Click the Options button on the bottom of the left-hand column.
Scroll down to Privacy and Junk E-mail Prevention and check Filter Junk Email.
If you are using Internet Explorer, while still under Options scroll down to Spelling Options. Check "Always check spelling before sending" and change "Select a Language" to English.
