Retirement of the OIT Center Lotus Notes Email Service |
||||
On January 31st, 2009, OIT will be turning off the mail services on the central Lotus Notes servers (notes.utk.edu and notes2.utk.edu). This change will not affect any departmental Lotus Notes servers (such as those maintained by the Agricultural Campus, the Biology Department, the College of Business, or the Institute for Public Service).
User accounts on the Central Lotus Notes servers will not be disabled as these servers provide other services for the University other than
electronic mail. Users will still be able to access mail that already exists on the server, but will not be able to send or receive any new mail in that account.
If a user has their e-mail address as <username>@ln.utk.edu then this e-mail address will cease functioning. Usersshould direct all people that they correspond with to use theUT e-mail address (i.e. <username>@utk.edu). If you do not have an Exchange account, or are unable to access your Exchange account you will need to contact the OIT Help Desk at 974-9900 for assistance. |
