I'm trying to give students extra credit in the Grade Center, but it doesn't work. What do I need to do?

In the old Blackboard gradebook, instructors often gave students extra credit by creating a column worth zero points, and then adding points to that column. By default,  Total columns in the new Grade Center ignore columns worth zero points. There is a workaround, however:

In the Grade Center , click the double arrow icon in the Total column and select "Modify Column". At step 3 ("Select Columns"), choose "Selected Grade Columns". Then add each of the columns to the area on the right (hold down shift to select multiple columns). This will force the Total column to include the extra credit column it its calculations.
