Physical Condition of Desktops –
Desktops must have all sides of the case in order to be worked on.  If the user is missing a panel, we will not check it in or even hold it in our area while the user retrieves the panel.  The exposure creates a safety risk for the computer and our personnel.  We will also decline to work on any computer that is visibly wet.  The user needs to bring it back after it has dried out.  Again, the reason is that it presents a safety hazard to the computer and our personnel.  The desktop must not be making the clicking and grinding noises that point to imminent hardware failure.  Working video out is required.  For reloads, a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM is required.  The desktop does not have to have working sound.

Physical Condition of Laptops –
We will decline to work on any laptop that is visibly wet.  The user needs to bring it back after it has dried out .  The reason is that it presents a safety hazard to the computer and our personnel.  The laptop must have a reliably working power supply with no exposed wiring.  A CD-Rom is required for reloads only.  The laptop must not be making the clicking and grinding noises that point to imminent hardware failure.  The laptop must have working video out.
