Are there any password limitations for my NetID/Tmail/Active Directory or UNIX passwords?

Yes.

Due to security policy, each password must be set to follow a series of complexity requirements:

• Must be at least 8 characters long.    
• Must contain at least three of the following categories:
  • Uppercase Letters
  • Lowercase Letters
  • Numbers
  • Punctuation:  Special characters such as +, %, /, $, and " will not allow you to authenticate into certain systems. It is recommended you refrain from their use.
• Cannot contain any portion of your username or display name. (NetID/Exchange passwords only)
• May not reuse any of the last 10 passwords

Other special limitations apply to users that access VolPrint.

To make your passwords easier to remember, we recommend that you go ahead and set your NetID/Tmail/Active Directory Password and your UNIX Password to be the same.  We also recommend that you reset both passwords at the same time.
