System requirements for supported Apple Operating Systems

Mac OS X Version 10.5 (a.k.a. Leopard)

  • Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
  • 512MB of memory
  • DVD drive for installation
  • 9GB of available disk space

Mac OS X Version 10.4 (a.k.a. Tiger)

  • requires a Macintosh computer with an Intel or  PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 processor
  • 256MB of RAM
  • a built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
  • 3GB of available hard disk space (4GB if you install the developer tools)
  • DVD drive for installation

Mac OS X Version 10.3 (a.k.a. Panther)

  • requires a Power Mac G3, G4, or G5, iMac, eMac, PowerBook G4, or iBook computer
  • at least 128MB of physical RAM
  • a built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
  • at least 2.0 GB of available space on your hard drive
  • CD-ROM drive

Mac OS X Version 10.2 (a.k.a. Jaguar)

  • requires a Power Mac G3 or G4, iMac, eMac, PowerBook G3 or G4, or iBook computer
  • at least 128MB of physical RAM
  • at least 2.0 GB of available space on your hard drive
  • CD-ROM drive
