1. Insert the Orinoco wireless card into the PCMICA slot.

2. Wait for the Airport PC Card icon to appear on the desktop.

3. Go to the Apple Menu and select ?AirPort?, as shown in the picture below.

4. In the AirPort window, you should see a button labeled ?Turn AirPort Off?. If it does not say, ?Turn AirPort Off?, click the button once to turn the AirPort off.

5. Make sure the check box that says ?Allow selection of closed networks? is checked, as shown in the picture below.

6. Go to the File Menu and select ?Open TCP/IP?.

7. Next to ?Connect via?, select AirPort PC Card.

8. Next to ?Configure?, select ?Using DHCP Server?.

9. Close the TCP/IP window and select save the changes.

10. In the Airport window, next to ?Choose network?, select ?Other?.

11. Select ?Other?.

12. Where it asks for the name of the network you wish to join type ?nomad? and leave the password blank, as shown in the picture below. Hit OK.

13. Close the AirPort window.

14. You may need to restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

REGISTRATION

After you have your wireless card installed and configured, you will need to register your wireless card to gain access to the wireless network. To register, open your web browser (IE or Netscape). You will automatically be taken to the network registration site, http://netreg.utk.edu/. Follow the online instructions and within a few minutes you should be on the wireless network.
