How can I download and install Forefront?

Go to OIT Software Distribution Internet Downloads then enter your NetID and your NetID password and select Log In.

Select Microsoft ForeFront Antivirus for Windows XP and Vista 32 bit or 64 bit depending on your bit version.

Click on Download selected item at the bottom of the page.

Then click on the link Click here to begin download

There may be some security windows that will open to verify that you wish to proceed, just choose Yes or OK. On the File Download window choose the Save option.

Then select the location on the computer that you wish to save it to. Then select Save.

After selecting Save, it will give a download progression window.

How do I install Forefront?

When the download is finished choose the Run option.

There may be verification or security windows that may pop up, just choose the Run and OK options. Then the install process should begin. Quick note, if there is a check in the box next to Close this dialog box when download completes, then it will automatically start the install process. If for some reason it closed and did not start to run automatically, then just go to the location where the file was saved to on the computer and open the file, it will also start the install process. The file should look like this

It will quickly extract the files. Then a box will open up like below, select OK.

It will begin the install process and a couple of boxes will appear

Click on OK and the installation is complete.
