I'd like to see the performance level of my users on the class discussion board, but I'm not sure how. Can you help? |

Determining the level of student performance and participation in an online learning environment is a tricky question. In a traditional classroom setting, students are often expected to participate in class discussions and that participation is part of the equation when assessing performance. Within a online classroom, participation performance can be ambiguous. It is sometimes difficult to differentiate the student who is active but does not advance the discussion from the student that speaks less frequently but with greater impact.
In Blackboard, the Performance Dashboard tool provides a window into all types of user activity in a course or organization. All users enrolled in the course are listed, with pertinent information about that user’s progress and activity in the course. Enter the course Control Panel. Under the Assessment section, click the Performance Dashboard link. The Discussion Board column lists the number of discussion posts by each student. Clicking on the number will take you to a listing of the forae in which the student participated. |
