Grading Forums vs Grading Threads

If you choose Grade Forum, you will be entering a grade based on the student’s participation in the entire forum, which is made up of any number of threaded discussions.

If you choose Grade Threads, you will have the option to enter a grade for each thread individually. Since the threads in that forum are to be graded, users ('members') will not be allowed to create new threads - only the forum/course administrators will have the ability to do this.
