Connecting to the Tmail System via Palm/VersaMail

Before configuring VersaMail to work with UT’s Exchange Server, please be aware that your Email & Calendar will be ERASED from your Palm device and replaced with your Calendar on the Exchange Server.

If you are unsure of what is on your UT calendar, go to http://tmail.utk.edu and login. Click on the Calendar button to view your calendar.

If this is not correct, use the Palm Desktop software & push your calendar to Outlook. Information on how to do this can be found in your Palm Desktop Manager documentation.

  1. Choose VersaMail from the main menu.
  2. Click on the Menu button & choose Accounts.
  3. Click on Account Setup.
  4. Click New to create a new account.
  5. In the Account Name field, enter Tmail.
    For Mail Services, select Exchange ActiveSync. Click Next..
  6. Enter your Username (NetID) and your Password. Click Next.
  7. Enter your Email Address and the Mail Server. The mail server is tmail.utk.edu. Click Next.
  8. Choose Advanced.
    For the Incoming Server Settings, use port number 443 and check the box: Use Secure Connection (SSL).
    On the Proxy Server Settings, click Done.
