Entourage 2004 Configuration for Mac OS X
Whether you already have Entourage 2004 or have run the Entourage 2004 installer from UT, you must use these instructions to completely configure your UT Exchange account in Entourage.
Clean your computer, update Mac OS and update Microsoft Office
If you have not already done so, please follow the instructions on the Setup Page to clean your computer and update Mac OS and Office.
Open Entourage and select Accounts from the Tools menu.
If you ran the installer, select your Exchange account and click Edit. Note that your account may have a slightly different name. Skip to step 5.
If you are setting up an account from scratch, click New.
(Skip this step if you are editing an existing Exchange account - i.e. you ran the installer from UT). Enter your email address. For User ID enter your NetID, for Domain enter utk, and enter your Exchange password*. Then click Configure account manually.
*If you have not setup your Exchange password, please visit the Exchange Account Management page and do so.
The Edit Account window should open as shown below. Configure your Account Settings as shown below, substituting your Name and NetID where appropriate. Select the Options tab when you're done.
- Account name: UT Exchange (or something similar
- Name: Your Name
- E-Mail address: Your email address (usually your NetID@utk.edu)
- Account ID: Your NetID
- Domain: UTK
- Password: Your Exchange password (if you have not set up your Exchange password, you can do so on the Account Management Page
- Save password in my Mac OS Keychain: This is optional
- Exchange server: https://tmail.utk.edu/exchange
- This DAV service requires a secure connection: Check this box
In the Options tab you can configure whether you download complete or partial messages. If your computer is a notebook and you read mail offline, it is recommended that you download complete messages. If your Mac is a desktop, you can leave this set to partial messages. This is also where you can set your default email signature if you have one set up. For more information, consult Help in Entourage or the FAQ. Next, select the Advanced tab.
Configure your Advanced tab exactly as shown.

- LDAP server: utkdc2.utk.tennessee.edu
- This server requires me to log on: Check this box
- This LDAP server requires a secure connection (SSL): Check this box
- Search base: Leave blank
- Public Folder Settings:
You may optionally set up Delegates in the Delegate tab. For more information, consult Help in Entourage or the FAQ.
You may optionally set up Digital Signing and Encryption. For more information, consult Help in Entourage or the FAQ.
Your Exchange account is now configured in Entourage. Click OK.
