OIT Exchange Email Migration Scheduling Questions
How does my group get scheduled?
If your group is not yet scheduled to be migrated and would like to reserve a place on the schdule, have your LAN manager, technical support person, or department head contact Bruce Delaney.
I would like to migrate myself. What self-migration resources are available?
The SIMS (a.k.a. WebMail) to Tmail migration signup page is now ready for use. If you would like to move to Tmail and migrate your WebMail account, please visit the Exchange/Tmail Migration Scheduler page to signup.
If you do not have any mail that you want migrated, or want to migrate your mail manually, you may contact the HelpDesk to submit an account creation request.
I am scheduled to be migrated. What do I need to do to prepare?
There are two aspects to preparing for migration: prepare your yourself and prepare your computer.
To prepare yourself, you should register for a training workshop or an online class (CBT). You can do both from the Training Page.
To prepare your computer, follow these steps:
Step 1: Clean your system
It is highly advisable that you run an antivirus scan with an up-to-date antivirus product such as McAfee, which is available for free to all students, faculty, and staff from the UT AntiVirus Site.
You should also run antispyware scans using products such as Windows Defender, Spybot S&D, and LavaSoft AdAware.
Step 2: Update your operating system and existing Microsoft Office products
