Walk-in Consulting in The Commons - Helpdesk Contact Form Technology Evaluation (TE)
Advancements in capabilities and the development of new methods and tools to solve problems are both a continual and rapidly progressing theme in the Information Technology industry.
The Technology Evaluation group at the University of Tennessee exists to help our University community in identifing new IT technologies, trends, and methodologies, and to analyze their potential in solving specific and/or general problems. This group supports all of the UT Office of Information Technology units in serving their own specific customers'
needs as well as collaborates with other campus departmental units and colleges in implementing new technologies into their research and educational needs.
From time to time the Technology Evaluation team also supports other universities and other organizations seeking to connect to the University of Tennessee's research and education infrastructure in joint, collaborative efforts. The Technology Evaluation team actively seeks out and encourages partnerships with such outside groups as a part of the University's overall outreach and education mission.
Our services include such things as analyzing and reporting on trends in technology, testing specific products to determine their viability as a solution to a specific problem or for wide-spread adoption within the University community as a whole, exploring new uses for current IT and networking technologies, and working with technology vendors to test new products and to evaluate developing standards as they are being brought to market.
